About Desjardins Psychotherapy
Meet our team
Julie Desjardins is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She provides mental health counselling and psychotherapy to individuals who struggle with various issues related to how they feel, think, and behave. Julie has worked in the mental health field since 2007, with community and non-profit organizations, and she specializes in helping people learn how to navigate their anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, trauma/PTSD, high conflict separation/divorce, parenting challenges, and relationship issues. In her practice, she works with clients who want to focus on psycho-education, identifying and solving problems, and learn new strategies and tools to better cope with life’s daily stressors.
She has extensive experience working with children and youth (8 years old +), students, adults, and seniors. Her approach to therapy focuses on teaching strategies from cognitive-behavioural, dialectical, acceptance and commitment, compassion and solution focused, and mindfulness (CBT, DBT, ACT, CFT, MFBT, and SFT).
Supervision and practicum site is now offered to Master's level students in Counselling and Psychology programs. Please inquire with Julie for more information.
